Oakley is a sweet 5-month-old Doberman Pinscher, who has had a rough start to her life. At 8 weeks old, she was purchased by her first family off of Craig's List from a backyard breeder. Within hours of arriving at her new home, she was attacked and bitten in the head by the family Pit Bull. Instead of taking her to a veterinarian, the family did nothing and just allowed her head to swell to twice its size.
After two weeks of living in pain, Oakley was given away and went to her second home. The second family immediately took her to the vet for treatment, however, they weren't prepared for a puppy, so she was placed with Las Vegas Doberman and Dachshund Rescue.
Oakley is currently recovering and looking for the perfect person or family lucky enough to take her home.
When I met Oakley I was pleasantly surprised by her sweet, happy personality. with all she's been through in her short life, she still loves everyone - including other dogs.
During her photo shoot, at a busy park, she happily bounced around and entertained herself with a toy before chilling in the grass and watching the people and dogs go by.
