How to Show Your Loved Ones You Care Without Breaking the Bank This Year

It's the most wonderful time of the year! The holiday season is upon us and that means it's time to start thinking about how we can show our loved ones we care. But, just because it's the holidays doesn't mean we have to spend a lot of money to do so. There are plenty of ways to show your loved ones you care without breaking the bank. Before we dig into the gift ideas, let's first remember why we give.

The joy of giving: what makes giving so special?

The joy of giving comes from the knowledge that you have made someone else's life better. Giving is special because it is one of the few things you can do that is completely selfless. When you give, you are not expecting anything in return. You are simply doing something nice for someone else. That is what makes giving so special.

But, wait! There's more! Dopamine! Yes, I said it. There's also a selfish reason for giving. Giving can be its own reward because making someone else's day feels amazing, and we all deserve to feel amazing, right?

The best gift for your loved ones (both, 2 and 4 legged) this year

With the rising costs of living, many people are on a tight budget. Giving gifts, even with the best intentions, may burden your loved ones by unintentionally putting them in a position to feel obligated to return the act of kindness by buying you a gift.

There are many ways to show your loved ones how much you care without shopping. Spending time with them is one of the most precious gifts you can give. Whether it’s cooking a special meal together, taking a walk in the park, or just sitting and chatting, quality time is always appreciated.

Don't forget your pets should get special time too. Maybe an adventure out or a movie day on the couch? However you choose to spend time with your pets, I'm sure they will be thrilled and you won't regret it.

If you’re looking for other ideas, there are plenty of affordable options that will still show how much you care. A homemade gift, a heartfelt card, or even a phone call can go a long way.

Tracy A Allard - Hmmm, movie day on the couch with my pups sounds like just the ticket after a crazy-busy holiday season! I've been wanting to revisit the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, this just gave me the hall pass to do it! Thanks Nicole!
