Week 3 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project

Center sounds like an easy post to do, but I rarely shoot centered, which means a perfect opportunity to go shoot centered.  Totally planned to do just that.  But, while still working on getting my business ducks in a row and having a small electrical fire in the middle of the night, then closing a leash in my car door and having to have the door taken apart to get it open and replacing the motor, I ended up short on time this week.

It was either shooting for the blog and giving up another desert walk with my dogs or editing old images, that I haven't found time to do it.  Easy choice because my goal, for my mental health and the well being of my dogs, is to walk every day that the weather permits.

Back in October 2020, I took a few photographs at a flyball event.  These are never that quite as pretty as outdoor photos because of the low lighting and these dogs are fast!  if the low light action isn't bad enough, there's also clutter and it usually takes place in a warehouse.  ACK!  This goes against all that is pretty in the world!  But it's still a fun challenge to shoot these events. Plus, it's nice for people to have photos of their dogs competing.  Back in the day, these images were impossible.  Technology is truly amazing.

Even though I'm shooting at a slight angle here, the jumps make it an ideal image for centering. :)

That's it for this week!  Don't forget to check out the other blog posts on this topic starting with Angela and Bella of Big White Dog Photography in Spokane, WA, visiting Plantes Ferry.

Nicole Hrustyk - Sort of rough, but could have been worse. Luckily the fire was only inside the fan and not in the ceiling and I have a new ceiling fan. The car will hopefully be back to normal soon.,m
