Moody

Week 2 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project

As a Scorpio, dark, and moody is who I am, so I should have a lot to say on this topic.  But, even though moody images are my favorite, my brain is empty today.  Like really void of thoughts.  So don't judge that my blog seems to be lacking one important thing for a blog - words.  I do have some moody images though.

I accomplish this style by shooting as the sun descends and lighting is minimal.  then I use my camera settings to maintain a sharp subject against a soft out of focus background to make sure that even with the low contrast, my subject still pops.  Once in photoshop, I adjust the colors and tones to support the mood and of course adjust the dog to pop a bit more.

Over the next year, I would like to explore more ways to add mood to my images.  The journey to learn new things really is endless.

 See you next week!

Nicole Hrustyk - Thank you so much! I'm so excited to finally have time to check things off my to-do list, and actually clear my head so I can be creative.

Angela Schneider - I scrolled down to that first image and all the air left my lungs with an "oooooooh." Fabulous. I can't wait to watch you grow in this moody journey.
