Golden Hour

Living in this dazzling city of Las Vegas, we are undoubtedly treated to breathtaking sunsets, and that glorious hour leading up to dusk when everything bathes in golden light. This is when I love to venture out to capture those special moments with our amazing furry companions. However, at the moment the sunset air is a bit stifling, to say the least. July and August can be downright miserable outside during the hours leading up to sunset, and unsafe for a portrait session. Especially for those adorable brachycephalic pups with short snouts, who are more susceptible to heat-related issues.

We do, however, have options. One fabulous option is doing a sunrise session. Yes, it pains me to leave the house without my coffee, but it's worth it. If you aren't so fond of mornings, I get it, but I promise you won't regret it. The cooler temperatures are definitely worth rolling out of bed and straight into your car. If we're lucky, it might be a magical 85 degrees out, and that totally beats 110. or higher.

Beyond the agreeable temps, another fantastic perk of sunrise sessions is the serenity that surrounds you. At the crack of dawn, everyone is at home sleeping or drinking their coffee, and as a result, we encounter fewer distractions, less chaos, and less traffic noise. It's actually quite peaceful.

If you're not up for driving to the mountains or the lake for your dog's portraits and prefer to stay close to home a sunrise session might be the perfect solution. Golden hour is beautiful whether it's morning or afternoon. The difference with morning is, You and your dog can revel in a peaceful, enchanting atmosphere while creating cherished memories together.

Don't let the early wake-up call deter you; the rewards of a sunrise session with your furry friend are undoubtedly worth it.
