The best training treat pouch

The absolute best treat training pouch for any purpose

When it comes to portrait sessions, training sessions, walks, hikes, or whatever it is you do with your dog that requires rewards, treats are an important part of the process. You want to be able to have your treats easily accessible, but you also need them to be stored in a way that is safe and easy to clean. That's where a good quality dog training treat pouch comes in handy.

Over the years, I have used lots of treat pouches, but never found one that I could stick with. Often, when I'm training my dogs, I'm just using kibble, which isn't too messy, just a little greasy, so pockets work fine. Sort of. pockets are fine until I forget food in them, and a cute little terrier pulls my clothes out of the hamper and eats the pockets. When I've used messy treats, I've found that some pouches are not that easy to open and close, so then I leave the pouch open and ultimately spill treats everywhere. Plus, gross treats in a fabric pouch is just bad and made even worse, when several days later, I find my pouch in my car with nasty treats inside. Ack! There must be a better way!

There IS a better way! The absolute, best treat pouch I've found is The Voila UltimageTreat Pouch. This pouch is made of silicone, making it easy to clean with dish soap and warm water. It also opens and closes easily, but still stays closed, so you won't have to worry about your treats falling out. Plus, it comes with a high-quality belt, so you can wear it comfortably while you train your dog. If you happen to gain weight, (I can say this from experience) the belt is easily adjusted in seconds. Not like the old style of pushing the strap in one spot and pulling another. Nope, just adjust and lock.

The sad news is, that they aren't often in stock. But no worries, just sign up to receive an email when they are in stock and when you are notified, order immediately because they will be gone again.

Darlene - Thanks for sharing this one, Nicole! I haven't heard of it! I love the idea of the silicone - MUCH easier to clean than the others haha - especially from slimy hot dog bits :)

Jan - I'm intrigued! My treat pouch takes a beating, and I love the idea of a silicone one. Thanks for sharing!

Tracy Allard - Ohhhh, I always love a good training pouch tip. I do have a drawer full of rejects though. For the past few years I've been using the Doggone Good pouch, but I may just be trying this one out soon. I like the fact that it can be easily washed, my fabric bag can get a little smelly after a while!

Elaine - We have a similar pouch made by Dexas. It has lasted forever. Treat pouches are definitely a needed item in a dog home! :)

Courtney - Going to order now! I was just telling a friend of mine that they should make a silicone insert for treat bags because those fabric pouches get so nasty!
