I know most of you come here to see dogs — and that’s usually what you’ll find. But today, I want to honor Rigby.
I don’t photograph many cats, but every now and then I get the privilege of meeting (and photographing) one. Rigby’s session was a One Last Pawtrait — meant to capture a pet during their final chapter, in a way that’s calm, beautiful, and full of heart.
He was nearly 17 and still doing quite well. A confident, beautiful soul with the kind of quiet presence that makes you want to slow down and just watch him curiously take in his environment. He arrived in his carrier, stepped out onto the grass, and strolled around the park like he’d done it a thousand times. He was used to being leash-walked, so we let him lead the way through the trees and sunshine.
The session was easygoing and peaceful — a reflection of who he was. Dignified, Grounded, but certainly not lacking in personality. I’m pretty sure Rigby was an old soul.
He has since passed, but I wanted to share a few images and honor his memory here. RIP Rigby.
